After 42 wonderful years in the North Side community, the Allegheny Sandwich Shoppe will be transitioning under new ownership to The Sandwich Shop with Chef Anthony taking over the reigns. We owe these many years at 822 Western Avenue to all of you – our loyal customers who have become family, our amazing staff, and the community as a whole.
We’ve always strived to make the Allegheny Sandwhich Shoppe a place that feels like home for our customers, but over the course of four decades, it has been the customers that make it feel like home. And with Chef Anthony at the helm, The Sandwich Shop will continue the tradition of quality meals with the home cooked feels.
Again, we could not have done any of this without our loyal staff who I cannot thank enough for their early mornings and long days of dedicated service. To my mother Helen, who’s been the consummate hostess, and cashier these many years; thank you for always having my back. To my daughter Nicole, it’s been one of my life’s biggest joys to have you and Yia Yia work together. Three generations…truly a gift! And to my wife Evelyn, thanks for your never ending support in caring for our daughter while I worked tirelessly for six/seven days a week. You are appreciated beyond compare.
